Dr. Emad Mohamed is a key member of the SMA claims team, supporting the team in providing project controls support, risk assessment input, proactive claims preparedness, and dispute management services. He was actively involved in the City of Edmonton’s recently completed Valley Line Southeast LRT project and is currently working on the Valley Line West LRT, Deerfoot Trail Improvements, and others, in the area of schedule review and claims support.

Emad received his doctorate in Construction Engineering and Management at the University of Alberta in 2021 with a focus on developing a decision support system for risk management using simulation, machine learning, and data analytics.

Emad has co-authored numerous journal articles and conference papers and worked as a university lecturer in undergraduate construction planning and management. He brings experience in construction, data mining and simulation, risk management on infrastructure projects, and developing simulation models for contingency estimation.
