Dr. Muaz Fagiar, P. Eng., provides project support in the areas of project management, claims and dispute management, process improvement, construction engineering, and simulation. His work at SMA covers a wide range of tasks, including developing simulation models, project controls, forensic construction schedule reviews, contract and claims analysis, and applying data-mining techniques to solve large construction problems. As a Research Assistant at the University of Alberta (U of A), Muaz helped develop a number of simulation research projects in conjunction with SMA.

During his time at the U of A, Muaz worked as a teaching assistant for contract administration and project management courses and led the U of A’s team at the Simulation Exploration Experience (an event run by NASA and the Simulation Interoperability Standards Organization), winning two awards for the team’s simulation of a waste management facility using modular construction and 3D printing.  In 2019, Muaz successfully defended his PhD on Forensic Schedule Information Modeling for Analysis of Time Claims in Construction Projects. He holds a P. Eng. designation in both Alberta and Saskatchewan.
