Robert Hui, BSc, PMP, is an expert in 3D CAD modeling, high quality visualization and animation simulations in Autodesk 3DS Max and Bentley Microstation. He has earned a BSc from the University of Alberta, with a double major in biological sciences and computer sciences. Robert has extensive programming experience in Microsoft .NET (C# and VB.NET) and Java technologies, as well as database systems and web technologies. He applies these skills at SMA by creating 3D models and simulations of projects that can identify issues or utility conflicts with the current plan and design. Robert can also create animations of construction techniques that allow the construction project to be visualized, which can clarify potential risks or constructability issues before construction begins. This ultimately reduces the cost or time that a project may have incurred, had it encountered these problems unprepared.

Robert has provided 3D CAD models and simulations for a variety of Drainage and Transportation projects at SMA, including work on several major City of Edmonton projects like the WESS Stage W12 drainage project and the Valley and Metro Line LRT projects. His array of skills in the areas of visualization, software development, and computing will provide critical expert support on relevant process improvement studies, particularly in the areas of recommendation development, implementation design, and prototyping.
