In 2012, the Canadian Society for Civil Engineering (CSCE) presented the City of Edmonton with the Award for Governmental Leadership in Sustainable Infrastructure, for the Risk-based Infrastructure Management System (RIMS) developed by SMA Consulting. In doing so, the CSCE recognized the innovation, leadership, and technical excellence the RIMS development team demonstrated in advancing the state-of-the-art in sustainable infrastructure management.
