City of Edmonton Walterdale Bridge Renewal
The current Walterdale Bridge has allowed pedestrians, cyclists, and motorists to cross the North Saskatchewan River from Queen Elizabeth Park Road/Walterdale Hill to River Valley Road/Rossdale Road/105 Street for almost 100 years. The City of Edmonton has opted to replace the aging structure with a “signature” new bridge, and requested SMA Consulting’s assistance with the following services:
- risk analysis for the design and construction phases
- constructability reviews
- range estimating
- probabilistic risk assessment
The project has a $132 million budget, and the new bridge is expected to open for traffic in 2015.
