SMA Consulting Ltd. was honoured to receive three awards at the 2016 Consulting Engineers of Alberta Showcase Gala, which was held on February 4 in Edmonton.

Two projects were submitted: STATES (Simulation Tool for Automated Tunneling Estimation and Scheduling), a tool developed with input from the City of Edmonton and the University of Alberta to support tunneling projects, and another project completed last year to assess risk for developments near freight rail in Calgary’s Nose Creek and Haskayne neighbourhoods, which was for the City of Calgary with support from AECOM and Canadian Pacific. STATES won Awards of Excellence in both the Small Firm-Big Impact and Studies, Software and Special Services categories. Our freight rail risk assessment project won an Award of Merit in the Studies, Software, and Special Services category.

We as a team want to congratulate the other team members on these awards and also to congratulate all of the nominees and winners from the night. Thanks also go to the Consulting Engineers of Alberta for hosting and organizing another successful gala.
